Meeting wrap-up October 4th, 2004

About 30 people attended the October meeting at DeVry University in Westminster. DeVry is developing a computer game development curriculum and also has a LAN gaming club. They invited us and also provided pizza and drinks.

Announcements included a discussion about December's meeting, which traditionally is at an arcade such as Dave and Busters. However, the group decided that if we can have this year's meeting at a LAN gaming arcade, it would be ideal. So we'll be investigating this possibility.

Gary Rosenzweig game a presentation summary of a panel on 3D Web gaming that he put together from the last Computer Game Developers conference. He explained the pros and cons of technologies such as Shockwave 3D, Wild Tangent, VirTools, 3D Groove and Java 3D. After some Q&A, the group broke into smaller discussion groups for the final hour.
