Game Project Expo

Pictorial

About 35 people attended the July meeting which took place at Westwood College in Denver.

This month, Westwood College was gracious enough to provide meeting space and sandwiches. They gave us a short introduction to their college and degrees they offered, as well as voiced their support for our industry in Colorado.

Gary Rosenzweig (Clevermedia) started off the meeting with introductions and announcements.

Following, attendees were given the floor to show off their current game projects. The first presentation was from Donohoe Digital, a Castlerock, Colorado game developer. They demoed two of their newest titles, War! Age of Imperialism, and Tournament Poker: No Limit Texas Hold'em. Attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions as Donohoe explored all aspects of their game development, from licensing to technology.

Gary Rosenweig of CleverMedia took the lectern next and held a group brainstorming design and Q&A session about their current project. Gary discussed design decisions as well as the operations of his company during a typical product's development cycle.

Last, Colton Hoerner of Evil Genius Games demoed and discussed one of Evil Genius Game's top selling titles, Rhiannon's Realm: Celtic Mahjongg Solitaire. Colton discussed why decisions were made during Rhiannon's Realm's development and how they impacted the overall product's look and feel, as well as fielded questions from attendees.

The July meeting wrapped up with members breaking into a general networking session.

Our next meeting will take place on August 2nd, with details to come.
