Meeting Wrap-up November 3rd, 2003Adventures In ModdingOver 30 people attended the November meeting which took place on the 2nd floor of the Art Institute. After introductions, Dave Feldman gave a presentation on the advantages of developing budget gaming titles using Shockwave 3D, a component of Macromedia's Director. Several of the points that Dave touched on were the inclusion of a full license of the Havok Physics Engine, differences between Shockwave, Flash, and Wild Tangent, tools that can be used to support Shockwave 3D game development, when not to use Shockwave 3D for game development, limitations, and other development related issues. Dave Feldman is an independent game developer, as well as a 3D Game Design professor at Red Rocks Community College. Following the group presentations, the group briefly touched on the annual holiday party, as well as a brief discussion about attending the next Game Developer's Conference. Attendees then broke into smaller groups to discuss topics of interest, show off their current projects, and network with one another. Our next meeting will be on November 3rd at 7:00PM at the Art Institute, with topic TBA. Pictorial
